The Progressive Community of Agiassos held its annual New year picnic at Gunnamatta Bay and it was (yet another) successful event, with many members and friends bringing in the New year together. 

Above: Singing Happy New year, President, Nikos Savvas, is about to cut the Vasilopites! He is flanked by Vice President, Georgios Savvas and former President of the Mytilenian Brotherhood of Sydney (NSW), Stavros Kritikos. 

It was a beautiful summer's day! The cooks did a marvellous job with the souvlakia and loukanika. Ans there was the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita!

Georgios donated several bottles of ouzo to the Progressive Community of Agiassos which were used in the raffle to raise funds for Agiassos; Anagnostirio. 

What is so impressive about this Agiassiotiko event is how many young families attend this picnic! It highlights the strong sense of community among Sydney's Agiassiotes and the inter-generational support and love for their Association.
