At the Opening of the Hippocrates Aged Persons Home
A Wonderful Philanthropic Gesture
Sunday, November 29, 2009
The Progressive Community of Agiassos (Sydney) capped off a great excursion to Newcastle when it attended the opening of the Hippocrates Aged persons Home, where it made a $1,000 donation.
It was a festive atmosphere throughout the day- from the sing-a-longs on the bus trip to the BBQ organised by Hippocrates.

During the formal part of the Opening, when the speeches were made, the Sydney's Agiassiotes were specially thanked for their continual support in the fund-raising for the Aged Persons Home.
"We are very impressed by Hippocrates' endeavour to build an Aged persons Home. Our Community has always been supportive of this project, as Committees under past Presidents, Irodotos Hatzifotis and Mihail Christofaris, had made donations. Our committee is continuing this support, and we will continue to do so," stated Community President, Nikolaos Savvas.
